Dear Customers,

As the current server is reaching its EOL, we would be upgrading the servers where your accounts are hosted to heavy-duty servers with Intel Deca-core Processor & Superfast SSD Drives.

The migration details for the servers are given below:

Server Impacted: Bear-india.dnsracks.com ( 103.20.214.243 )
Migration Start Date: October 1, 2021, 9:00 PM IST ( 3:30 PM GMT )
ETA for Completion: Migration would be completed in approx 12 - 24 hours


Why the need for Migration? 

As a part of our quality assurance policy, we regularly upgrade our infrastructure to meet the Industry standards & to protect the servers from any possible signs of crashes/downtimes.

Migration Description: During this time, we will be migrating the old servers to a new & powerful server with the following configuration:

• Latest generation Intel Processors with Deca Core Compute
• 128 GB ECC RAM
• SuperFast Enterprise SSD Drives on RAID 1
• High-Capacity Enterprise Storage Systems

Migration Impact:

1. The Server IP remains the same on the new server hence you don't need to change any IP in the DNS file.

2. During the IP Swap, there will be downtime when none of the services will be available.

 

What is being Upgraded:
1. MySQL would be upgraded from version 5.6 to 5.7

2. Removal of Native PHP versions ( 5.x, 7.0, 7.1, 7.2 ) provided by cPanel. These show up as ea-php in the Multi-PHP Manager. The removal is being done due to the deprecation of these PHP versions by the PHP Community & cPanel Authority.

However, you can continue using the old PHP versions by using our hardened PHP ( alt-php ) provided by CloudLinux via the PHP-Selector option available in the cPanel.

 

 

What we expect from you:
- Upgrade your Application according to the latest services and server components i.e MySQL 5.7 and PHP 7.3+ versions.

- Please do not create any new websites in the cPanel during this period as newly created websites may not be migrated during migration.

- Do not upload any data during the migration period.

Is there any downtime involved?

Yes, during the IP swap, the actual downtime would be involved, as no services would be available during the swapping.

The expected ETA is of 60-120 minutes.

Communications Plan:
Our helpdesk will be fully functional and staffed during the migrations. We will also be posting periodic updates in the announcements section to keep you fully informed of the status of all migrations.

Please do not use our emergency contact numbers during the migration, as this will just slow our work.
